The Friends of St Georges

The Friends of St George’s is an organisation that has been set up to help maintain, preserve and enhance the fabric of the church with their time, talents and financial support. Membership is open to all those who appreciate the church and churchyard as a focal point at the very centre of the village and wish to see it preserved for future generations.

The running of the charity is vested with a committee elected by the members and they decide on which projects the funds raised will be spent. Recent projects which The Friends have supported are; restoration of the organ, fitting new lighting to the church interior and building a servery in the south porch.

Social and cultural events are arranged with the aim that members can derive pleasure as well as supporting the historical centre of our village. The annual quiz night has quickly established itself as a village institution.
