Description of Service Types


Morning services.
8am Holy Communion. On the first Sunday this is according to the Book of Common Prayer, on other Sundays it is according to the provisions set out in 'Common Worship'.
At 9.30am (11am on the Ist Sunday in October and 10.45 am on Remembrance Sunday). 1st Sunday of the month usually a Family Service with a substantial lay leadership, arranged with families and younger people in mind.
2nd and 4th Sundays. Sung Eucharist using 'Common Worship'.
3rd Sunday usually Family Communion
5th Sunday. Choral Matins.

Family Services and Family Communions tend to be shorter services lasting about 45minutes rather than one hour.

Afternoon services.
Ist Sunday 5pm Choral Evensong, followed bi-monthly by an organ recital
3rd Sunday, A service is held in the common room of Sheltered Accomodation in Benenden.

Worship style & Communion for children.
Services are liberal catholic in style. Vestments are worn, and there is a robed choir. Children can be admitted to Communion at St George's from the age of 7.
